About Fons Catholic

A 28-day prayer companion for adults entering the Catholic Church - and for anyone learning to pray Catholic from scratch.

Why Fons Exists

Most parishes do catechesis well. Almost no one is teaching new Catholics how to pray.

Inquirers learn about the faith between weekly OCIA sessions. They learn what the Church believes, what the sacraments are, what salvation history looks like. But when it's time to actually pray - to say the Our Father, to make the Sign of the Cross with confidence, to know what's happening at Mass - they're often left to figure it out alone.

Fons fills that gap. Twenty-eight days of guided, gentle daily prayer formation. The five core prayers every Catholic carries. The rhythm of morning, meals, evening. The communion of saints. What Catholics believe and how Christ touches your life through the sacraments. By Day 28, you have the prayers, the rhythm, the company, and the path.

Fons is for the OCIA candidate, the returning Catholic, the spouse of a Catholic who wants to understand, the curious seeker who hasn't decided yet. We don't ask where you are. We just walk with you.

Part of the Domus Family

Fons Catholic is part of Domus Formation, a family of daily Catholic formation companions for every season of life.

After your 28 days here, the rhythm continues - in Hearth & Altar for families with children at home, Eventide & Altar for the second half of life, Ostium Catholic for young adults, Iron & Altar for Catholic men, Vessel & Altar for Catholic women, Young Disciples Society for teens, and Hogar y Altar and Ocaso y Altar in Spanish.

Same daily structure you've come to know. Different audience. Same Church.

We believe daily formation shouldn't require a degree in theology or an hour of free time. It should meet you at the kitchen table, in the carpool line, in the five minutes before the day takes over. That's what Domus is building. Fons is the entry point.

Who We Are

Fons Catholic was founded by Deacon Michael Halbrook, a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, serving at St. Elizabeth Parish in Granite City. Michael founded Domus Formation in 2026 after eighteen years at Adobe, where he led a global team of consultants. He and his wife Suzanne have four sons.
