Vessel & Altar
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels.
Daily liturgical formation for Catholic women who pour out - and who need to be poured into. The vessel holds the treasure and pours it out. But the vessel also needs to be filled.

Reflection
Sister, Paul writes from prison, genuinely unsure whether he'd rather live or die, both good to him for different reasons. He resolves it by choosing to stay, for the sake of people who still need him, not because staying is the easier road.
The month closes tonight the way it opened, with a table. Isaiah's opening image was of being carried, nursed, comforted before you did anything to earn it.
You were being filled all month so that something could be set on the table, and tonight the table is finally the whole point. Tonight's Gospel closes on the same image from the other side: guests jostling for the seat of honor, and Jesus telling them to take the lowest place instead, and let the host move them up. A vessel that's spent a month being filled doesn't need to fight for its own seat. It trusts the setting, because it already knows who set the table.
Tonight is the vigil of All Saints, a fitting night to lay down whatever you carried this October and simply let yourself be set, at the table, at rest, filled by someone else's hand rather than still working to fill yourself.
The saints being celebrated tomorrow didn't get there by claiming their own seat of honor. They got there by being genuinely poured out, and then, eventually, set at a table they didn't build. That's the whole arc of this month, offered back to you one more time on its last night.
The Challenge
Take the lowest place once this week, deliberately, somewhere you'd normally claim the seat of honor. Notice what it actually costs you, and what it doesn't.
One Prayer
Lord, you carried me at the start of this month and you're setting me at the table tonight. Whether I live or die, let it be for the people who need what you've given me. All you saints, pray for us. Amen.
