Vessel & Altar
We hold this treasure in earthen vessels.

"Son of man, can these bones come to life? I answered, 'Lord GOD, you alone know.'" - Ezekiel 37:3
Reflection
The honest answer is the beginning. Ezekiel does not say yes in false optimism. He does not say no in despair. He says: Lord God, you alone know. That is faith - not certainty that things will turn out well, but trust that God knows what the person looking at the bones cannot know.
And then God commands: prophesy. Not after the bones have shown signs of life. Before. The speaking is part of how the living comes.
Many women know the valley of dry bones from the inside. The marriage that has been mostly silence. The child who has walked away. The prayer said for years over something that hasn't moved. The faith that sustained everyone around you while feeling depleted in yourself. The command to prophesy comes into all of these situations - to speak what God has promised before the rattling is visible.
The woman who says what God has said over the dry-bone situation - who names the promise before the evidence arrives - is doing what Ezekiel did. She does not need to know the outcome. She needs to know who knows.
The Challenge
What is your valley of dry bones - the thing you have stopped prophesying over because it seems too far gone? Name it. Give the honest answer: Lord God, you alone know if this can live. Then hear the command: speak the promise anyway. You don't need to feel it yet. Say what God has said.
One Prayer
Lord, let the redeemed say so - let me say what you have promised, even before I can see it. I prophesy: you will open this grave. You will put your spirit here. I cry to you in my distress. Lead me on the straight road to the city. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us. Amen.
